love theses hooks, friends saw then and I had to share my amazon find.I installed this so my wife could have a place to hang her purse by the back door. If she hangs her purse on it, her purse is easy to find. If she doesn't hang her purse there, this hook doesn't help at all.The rack looks great. It was easy to assemble but has a sliding issue. That alone wasn't a problem, the issue is that the hangers will not stay in place. so you have to be a bit more cautious that other one piece racks.Looks great! Very easy to install!Review of Amazon Basics Traditional Bathroom Towel and Robe HookThe title here says for "towels and robes", but the box says otherwise. (Traditional Robe Hook). The towels don't stay up on it very well unless I use a towel that has a loop sewn into the corner (not many do). I chose this because it was cheap and I needed oil rubbed bronze to match the other bathroom fixtures. Sad I couldn't find a towel hook like already installed but I tried. Also, if you don't have that set screw, there's no way it would stay put because the mounting bracket is way too small for this hook. If I didn't have holes in the wall for this, I'd send it back.The finish is nice Oil Rubbed Bronze, the installed product is heavy duty and solid on the back of my door. The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 was because the set screw that secures the hook to the mounting bracket is way too long- it sticks out of the bottom of the escutcheon by 1/8"-1/4"! As the set screw is Zinc Plated, it sticks out like a sore thumb.The workaround is to bend the bottom tab of the mounting bracket up a little bit (1/8-1/4") (do this before it is on the wall, or else you'll ding up the wall). Once I did this, the set screw went in further and could not be seen.Worth every penny. I needed a cheap solution to replacing an ineffective towel hook on the back of our bathroom door. We rent and our lease is very particular about holes being made anywhere - added annoyance was that it needed a replacement that could use a simple bracket that can take only one screw. It was surprisingly hard to find a bracket that didn’t sue 2-3 screws and was relieved when I found this one! This bracket can take 1 or 2 screws if you like, but we have found we don’t need the second screw to hold up our 2 towels. Very easy to install, instructions were clear to follow. Now, if only my landlord hadn’t stripped the screws out on the old hook bracket which lead to an hour-long struggle with a vice grip to get the space prepped for this lovely new hook!!Very nice heavy duty product. Matched our Delta decora very wellI ordered the traditional chrome colour. You need to fix it with a drill and screw in the wall, which I don't mind (and prefer over the adhesive or suction which keeps falling). It has been securely fixed in my bathroom for over six months without any change in colour or shine. I like it because it's compact and sturdy with two good shape hooks, which conveniently holds my large bathsheet and two hand towels even when they are wet.Good value for moneyI fitted 2 of these in about 20 mins inc clean up time.However I am an experienced DIY er and always adopt what the army used to call the 7 p principle. Proper Prior Panning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. If the user wants to fit these to a door which is solid wood then no problem.However if it is desired to fit these to a modern interior door which can be very hollow then differant rawl plugs are required that facilitate this.These are easily obtained and are not expensive.For solid walls etc no other bits are required .Very good quality and for novices the manual is very comprehensive.Highly reccomended produce .This hook is one of the products in a line of basic bathroom accessories.
